Kassy , You know that you are one my friends here in AW and I am very glad about that. What can I do to help you ?
pete
Will try to keep this short(although those who know me, know that I can't do that *L*)
Here is what is going on, and I am baring a lot of personal info here.
Some of you know me as, well, Kassy.
The outspoken Bi*** who says what is on her mind, but that comes from my heart.
When I love, I love hard.
If someone fu*** w/anyone close to me, then .......well.......~innocent smile~
Here is the deal:
I wrote awhile back about how hubby and I were fired/lost our jobs etc.....All of this happenng after we bought a new home.
And we haven't sold our old home, so times are rough right now.
Bottom line...some of you know and those who don't......I am ill.
I have been since 1989.
I am on SSDI and I am not going to explain what that is , as I feel embarrassed for whatever reason.
I had to find a job real quick when hubby and I lost our jobs, and I am still there, but it is killing me.
I have to be up at 3 am to be there at 5 am.
You only have to work 20 hours per week to get health insurance which is why i went there.
I need the health insurance as I am always at dr's and having tests done.
But now...Hubby is doing GREAT at his new job (which is in our same line of work from before) they love him, and see what hard worker he is.
I knew this wouldn't be brief *L*
I just am struggling with...do I go off of SSDI.....and try to work full time with hubby doing what I love....or do I stay where I am, and only work part time.
The peeps who know me, know I used to work w/hubby at a liquor store.
I want to live a regular life.
I have already been offered a job of doing wine tastings at hubbys new work, every Saturday.
Wine is my passion, i am a wine geek (not to be confused w/ a wine snob *G*)
I am just sad and don't know what to do.
Most likely noone will respond and that is cool*L*
Thanks tho, for letting me vent.

Pete just responding made me feel good.
I just have to make a decision and it's so hard.
If i go off SSDI, then I lose it, and knowing my health.....well it scares me to try to work full time.
Not sure what to do, as it took me over 2 years to "win" against the system to get SSDI for my illness.
I want to work full time, and then some....Just not sure my body will let me.
This is why I am scared.
Thanks for taking the time to respond Pete........you are very kind.

Kassy my dear...i dont know what to tell you
but you are in my prayers *HUGS* I hope things
work out for you! I know how hard it is dealing
with illness and jobs......it is tough to decide
what route to take, but have patience and the
answer will come to you!
i think you should stay on SSDI...and do wine tasting on weekends...
my question is can you get state offered health insurance... ? mabbe you could do the wine tasting and its not enough hours for health insurance but its better for your health...so maybe you can do that?
i know one thing...ive watched you struggle and fight ( and win BTW ) with your health...and i know how exhausting it is...
if you work fulltime and have health insurance...but your health suffers and youj cant enjoy life, where does that leave you?
what i want...is KAssy to be happy and enjoy life to the utmost... 24/7... cuz we never know when our number is up... so live now...
love ya beautiful soul... think about what ive said...life is about living, but not meant to be breath in breathe out....
i will be around tomorrow night if youre still pondering...
[img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img] !
slow and steady wins the race....
I'm with amy and everyone else. You know if you can stay on the SSDI and work 20 hours doing wine tasting or something can you get by on that? If so..then do it!! Do what you can without hurting yourself to badly. [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
maybe u already know this but...
you can earn up to $860 a month without danger to your ssi...and you have a 6 month trial period which in you can earn unlimited income...but you may have already burned that.
along with ssi -after 2 years of benefits- you qualify for medicare-not bad insurance but you will need to get a part D for the meds...not many meds are covered by medicare.
any items u need to work will be paid for by ssi if they are items that are not used outside of work and are needed to assist you.
the biggest factor in returning to work and leaving ssi- i see is- the insurance cost associated with replacing medicare with outside insurance which will be rated due to the tag of "disabled". it can be as much as $800 a month to get the same benefits and that negates much of any income.
hope some of this helps.

Don't ask for advice. When you ask for advice you get opinions. When you get opinions you get confused. Too many different directions that you could go in and trying to choose one of those will cause you more problems than the original problem was causing you to begin with. So just sit back on your own, think it through and walaa, you've solved your problem. And if you can't solve your problem, then just stop worrying about it and move forward. It's life, not a puzzle.
